A Message from the Dean
As dean of The University Graduate School, I welcome you. It is with great honor that I’m able to work with the graduate faculty, students, and staff who give Indiana University its scholarly prowess in graduate education.
If you’re preparing to join us for the first year of your master’s or doctoral degree program, you are arriving at an exciting time. The world’s need for innovative and interdisciplinary research is at its peak, and Indiana University has both the human capital and the technology to meet it.
When you arrive, your role here as a graduate student will be critical. seven campuses and two regional centers, the collaboration between faculty and students is prominent. We know you will stimulate great ideas—both in your field of study and right here at IU. You’ll tell us how we can create a better graduate student experience, and we’ll be here to listen and take action. Most likely you will obtain a teaching position while you’re here. To IU’s mission to give undergraduates access to extraordinary academic programs, you will be vital.
Your graduate degree from The University Graduate School at Indiana University will take you anywhere in the world you want to go. What we look forward to is where your work will take the world.
Don’t hold back in your thinking, as all of life’s great accomplishments begin with the brave.
